Jeff Watson Receives ICPAS Distinguished Service Award

Jeff Watson is one of the recipients of the 2018 ICPAS Distinguished Service Award for his work on the ICPAS Accounting Principles Committee. It’s the third time Jeff will be receiving the ICPAS’ distinguished service award (2018, 2011 and 2009) for his work on the Committee.

Jeff also completed his term on the AICPA’s Technical Issues Committee (TIC). In addition to monthly meetings with the Financial Accounting Standards Board Staff, he represented the AICPA in providing a voice for private companies in several public roundtables held at the offices of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and provided private company perspectives on several AICPA Task Forces.

He was TIC’s project leader on the following FASB projects: (1) Final ASU 2017-12, Derivatives and Hedging (Topic 815);  (2) Proposed ASU 2017-240 and 2017-280 on simplifying related party guidance for variable interest entities and restructuring/simplification of Topic 812, Consolidation Topic; and (3) several disclosure simplification projects.
