Miller Cooper Celebrates Nexia Day 2018
July 25, 2018

Choosing the theme, “Forming Enduring Relationships,” Miller Cooper celebrated Nexia Day – July 25 – with several events, including volunteer opportunities for our principals and staff, “Jeans for a Week” for donations to Youth Business International and lunch served in the office with a dessert to mark the occasion.

Miller Cooper chose “Forming Enduring Relationships” because we places great importance in giving back to the community and being socially responsible. Choose this demonstrates the values of our firm and provides our staff with opportunities to develop relationships with each other and the community. One lasting benefit to participating in Nexia Day is more awareness in our office of Nexia International.

Two charities were chosen for volunteering. Feed My Starving Children strives to eliminate starvation in children throughout the world. Through its facilities in four states, Feed My Starving Children collects and packages food for distribution throughout the world. Closer to home, Adopt-A-Beach is a chance to help maintain Chicago’s beaches along Lake Michigan. Volunteers give their time to pick up debris left on the beaches or that washes up.

In conjunction with Nexia International, which has partnered with Youth Business International for Nexia Day, Miller Cooper sponsored a Jeans Week, allowing principals and staff to wear jeans to work for this week in exchange for a donation to Youth Business International. We raised more than $950, and everyone is enjoying a relaxed week.

Finally, we wanted to mark July 25 in our offices to help raise awareness of Nexia with our staff. We shared a great lunch from Wildfire and afterwards, special cupcakes with the Nexia Day and Miller Cooper logos were served.
