Russ Bolitho is a tax principal of Miller Cooper. He is a member of the Estate Planning and Administration Group. Mr. Bolitho’s areas of concentration includes family wealth income tax planning; estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; estate and trust administration. He is responsible for managing the income tax compliance process for his clients. Mr. Bolitho counsels family groups, business owners, executives and individuals with respect to their income tax planning, charitable giving planning and wealth transfer planning.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Mr. Bolitho has 27 years of experience providing income tax compliance services to wealthy families, high net worth individuals, trusts, charitable entities and family partnerships. He also has extensive experience in reviewing gift and estate tax returns. Mr. Bolitho has developed particular expertise assisting clients with tailoring estate and gift tax planning ideas to fit their goals, risk tolerance, cash flow needs and asset mix.
Prior to joining Miller Cooper, Mr. Bolitho worked in the Private Client Services Group of a Big 5 Accounting Firm and led the Private Client Group for a regional accounting firm. He has also headed a Chicago family office and worked as internal legal counsel for the client service team at a major bank.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: Mr. Bolitho received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago, Masters of Science in Taxation from DePaul University and Bachelor of Science of Accounting from the University of Iowa (with distinction). He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. Mr. Bolitho also is an active member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
